MAY 2011:

5.13
We are currently in the midst of our 2nd northeast tour.  Our first bunch of shows were in and around New York City; tonight we are playing in at the McAneny Theater, in Princeton NJ.  (This is the theater at PDS, the school I attended from Kindergarden to 12th grade.) I'm really looking forward to connecting with some wonderful people that I haven't seen in years!  Also looking forward to hearing some words from my highschool english teacher, Liz Cutler, as well as music from one of my favorite musicians and dear friend Matt Trowbridge.  The show is "an exploration of loss through music and words."  I think it'll be a moving evening.

From here we're heading south to Philly and DC before we head north to Providence and Boston. We've had a lot of meaningful, interesting and challenging experiences already in the first week and a half of this tour, and we still have two weeks to go.  We're experimenting, trying new things, and learning a lot in the process.  Please have a look at the Journal section to learn more.

A quick update on the album front:
As you may know, we launched a Kickstarter campaign in January to fund the making of an album of songs dedicated to the life and spirit of my mother, Karen Cotton, who passed away almost two years ago.  We reached our funding goal in February, recorded the album in April, and are now in the process of sharing the songs (and the album) with people on this tour.  The album hasn't officially been "released", so it's not available online yet, but it will be shortly after we're home from tour, in June.

MAY 2010:

It's been a long while since an update (apologies.)  Besides being extremely lazy on the website-updating front, I've also been waiting for some really BIG news to report.  Well, here it is: we are about to embark on our Red River Tour of the east coast!  We'll be traveling from Washington, DC to Biddeford, Maine from May 14th to 30th, performing in churches, homes, and other similarly intimate venues.  Red River albums and SC t-shirts in tow.  The band line-up will be: me, Gabe, and Anna, Nick Tardif (at most shows) and Nick Stargu (at some shows.)  Stellar musicians, all of them!  I'm  honored to have them along.  Please check out the shows section for all the details!  Hope to see you out there in the world.
